The genus Gaillardia was named after the French botanist Gaillard de Marentoneau.
Gaillardia aristata is one of the parents of the ubiquitous Gaillardia grandiflora. It is slightly more drought resistant.

Red/yellow flowerheads, up to 4 inches in diameter (10 cm), in early Spring to late summer
