Recommended Temperature Zone:
sunset: All zones
USDA: 7-10

Sun Exposure: Full sun

Growth Habits: Annual herb, up to 24 inches tall (60 cm)

Watering Needs: Regular water

Propagation: Seeds

The taste of basil works great with anything containing tomatoes.

Cultural Practices:
The plant will die after setting seeds, but can be kept for longer than a year by cutting the spike buds as soon as they appear. Still it is only borrowed time and the plant eventually weakens and die. It is better to regularly replace them, since the leaf quality of young plants is much better anyway.
